The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame‘s inaugural Polynesian Bowl, a high school all-star football game will take place on January 21, 2017 at 6pm at Aloha Stadium on O’ahu, Hawai’i. According to an announcement by the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame and ESPN the Polynesian Bowl game will be aired on ESPN3, an online streaming service by ESPN Networks. The live broadcast will be blacked out locally in Hawaii, but will be shown at a later date in Hawaii on ESPN3. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster.
The all-star game will feature 84 of the nation’s top high school seniors of Polynesian heritage and other ethnicities. Tennessee Titans Quarterback, Marcus Mariota and Baltimore Ravens Offensive Tackle, Ronnie Stanley will be team captains. Polynesian Football Hall of Fame inaugural inductees Jack “The Throwin’ Samoan” Thompson and Olin Kreutz will serve as honorary head coaches for Team Mariota and Team Stanley, respectively. Kanoa Leahey will handle play-by-play and Vai Sikahema will be the color analyst for the broadcast.
