Business Directory FAQ
How do I submit a business listing?

There is a “submit” form towards the bottom of the main Directory page. Or, Contact us.

What happened to the directory?
The “full service” business directory listings has been streamlined and simplified. You can still find all the same information, but without all the “bells & whistles”.

Straight up… As the internet culture advances forward with technology, I (Punaboy Da Webmastah) feasibly could not keep pace with the likes of service related sites such as Yelp or other corporate backed programs. Instead, we attempt to deliver the pertinent information in a more “9th Island” unique manner.

Can we recommend a business (from directory)?

No, it’s up to you (website user) to decide. Especially if it comes to personal opinion. We do not give recommendations (as to which is better or the best) to a particular business listing over others listed. We may direct you to all listed business’ pertaining to your request, or maybe narrow it down to a location (geographically) convenient to your situation.

It is against our policy to show or give unfair favoritism to a business listing over another. Even Kamehameha The Great had laws!

Why was my business listing rejected?

Your business directory listing was rejected because it failed to meet one or more of the requirements listed below.

  • Business listings must be located in the Las Vegas Valley (Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson) or nearby surrounding areas (Boulder City, Pahrump, Mt Charleston, Lake Mead, etc).
  • Business listings (business matter or owner) must be related to or have ties to Hawaii and/or the Pacific Island Nations. Or, have valued interest to former Hawaii Kama’aina.
  • Business listings must not contain (or related to) content considered hateful, discriminative material, racism, pornography, terrorism, blatantly or deliberately offensive.

It is at Aloha Valley’s discretion as to whether or not a listed meets requirements.

How do I give a review for a listing?

We understand the need to bring forward unsatisfactory service experiences.  Although in best interest of parties involved, cease business reviews due to ongoing personal vendetta.

For reasons explained in the first FAQ of this section (What happened to the directory?) you cannot leave a direct review of a directory listing on this website.  “If you can’t beat’em, join them”… use Yelp.

Article Content FAQ
Who writes the articles posted?

I (Punaboy) write the articles, mostly. Sometimes we have “guest” writers or post third party syndicated articles.

If you have an article (written & owned by you) that you want posted or have suggestions to article content please contact us. Mahalo.

Why am I not able to leave a comment?

You are able to leave comments on all posts in the “Articles” and “Events” sections of this website.  The comment area is towards the bottom of posts pages. You can comment by logging into your social media account of choice or comment as a “guest”.

If you still have problems, not sure what else we can help you with. Maybe seek an  “Internet 101 Beginners Course” at a community college or community center near you?
