ALOHA ‘OE (aloha-oy) – Farewell, Goodbye, to remember with affection;
Farewell, Aloha Oe Las Vegas! A look back at the business establishments that are no longer in operation, but held huge impact on the Hawaiian community in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is dubbed as the 9th Island of Hawaii, with good reason. Many Hawaii residents moved to Southern Nevada back in the 70s and 80s, although the big migration started in mid to late 90s. Hawaii Locals come from different walks of life. Different backgrounds, different subcultures, and yet all leave a mark. An everlasting impression on what we now call our home away from home. I must say without these people; these business establishments, the 9th Island of Las Vegas would not be what it is today. Big Shaka!
